Iana LaShawn Harris was born in Kenitra, Morocco to Navy parents who divorced shortly after moving back to the United States when she was two years old. She is the baby of four children in a blended family because they saved the best for last. 😊  Her childhood years were spent with her mother and sister.  During the summer and holidays, she would visit her father, step-mother and other siblings.  For her high school years, Iana relocated to Florida from Georgia to live with her father.

Finding herself in a crisis pregnancy as a teen, with no pregnancy resource centers to visit for options counseling, she chose to have an abortion as a 16-year-old junior in high school.  Iana immediately began to suffer from depression, anxiety, and became extremely promiscuous.  However, she became a master at masking her issues.  Following high school, Iana attended the University of Florida where she earned her Bachelors and Master’s degrees in Education. As a college student, she was a very active in many things from the Preview Orientation staff to the University Gospel Choir.  Upon graduation, she worked in the field of education for many years, teaching students from pre-school to college.

During a very low time in her life, the Lord led her to a ministry called Rachel’s Vineyard Retreats to finally confront the pain of her abortion and take of her masks.  On that retreat, she felt the call to post-abortion healing ministry.  However, she would not fully answer the call until many years later but a dream was birthed inside of her.  After participating in the Forgiven and Set Free Bible Study, she became a facilitator and now works to train other women in Abortion Healing.   By the leading of the Lord, she has launched her personal ministry, Break-Free: Abortion Healing Ministry.

Today, Iana serves as the Administrative Pastor at Freedom Destiny Church in Orange Park, Florida.  She holds a Doctoral degree in Christian Education from Jacksonville Theological Seminary and is married to her loving and supportive husband Robert.  Together, they have five children, one son-in-love, and two grandsons.  When she is not serving in ministry, she enjoys traveling, watching action movies and eating great food.
